Solana news: Bitget Launches Reality Platform for Tokenised Real-World Assets

Bitget Unveils Reality for Tokenised Assets
Crypto exchange Bitget has launched Reality, a new platform dedicated to the tokenisation of real-world assets (RWAs). The platform initially offers tokenised exposure to selected US stocks and exchange-traded funds (ETFs), integrating these assets into Bitget's broader trading ecosystem.
How Reality Works
Reality issues "rTokens," which are on-chain representations of publicly traded equities and ETFs. Each rToken is backed 1:1 by actual shares held with a FINRA-registered, SIPC-protected US broker-dealer. This structure aims to provide users with access to markets that are often limited by geography, trading hours, and settlement barriers.
- Tokenised equities can be used as unified account margin
- Over 100 tokenised stocks, ETFs, commodities, FX, and gold available
- Designed to maximise capital efficiency for users
Industry Context and Growth
Tokenisation is gaining momentum, with analysts suggesting it could reshape the broader funds industry. Ark Invest projects that tokenised assets could surpass $11 trillion by 2030. The current RWA market stands at $34.1 billion in distributed-asset value, with US Treasury debt accounting for $15.3 billion.
Why This Matters for Solana and the UK
The rise of tokenised real-world assets is significant for the Solana ecosystem, which is known for its high-speed, low-fee blockchain infrastructure. As platforms like Reality expand, there are growing opportunities for Solana-based projects to integrate or support tokenised assets. For UK users and builders, this trend could improve access to global financial markets and inspire similar innovations within the UK regulatory framework.
