Solana news: Visa and TikTok Launch Creator Card for UK Content Creators

Visa and TikTok Introduce Creator Card
Visa and TikTok have launched a new Creator Card and business account tailored for UK content creators. This initiative aims to provide creators with quicker access to TikTok LIVE earnings and tools to manage business finances separately from personal accounts.
Addressing Creator Economy Challenges
The Creator Card is among the first debit cards designed for TikTok LIVE creators in the UK. It addresses common cash flow issues in the creator economy, where income often arrives in irregular bursts. By enabling faster access to earnings, the card helps creators cover costs and reinvest in their business without waiting for delayed payouts.
Insights from Visa Research
- 49% of surveyed UK creators have experienced late or inconsistent payments.
- 41% have declined opportunities due to cash flow problems.
- 37% report stress or anxiety from payment delays.
- 86% of creator-run businesses are self-funded.
- 94% want to separate personal and business finances.
Visa estimates there are around 200 million creators globally, with the creator economy projected to reach USD 500 billion by 2027. The UK Creator Card launch follows Visa's Creator Report and a pilot program with Karat.
Statements from Visa and TikTok
Lucy Demery, SVP and Head of Visa Commercial Solutions Europe, stated that the launch provides creators with faster access to income from TikTok LIVE, brand partnerships, and platform payouts. Paula D'Urbano, Country Manager for TikTok LIVE UK, Ireland and Baltics, highlighted that the partnership offers more ways for creators to manage rewards and build sustainable careers.
